Bomber drones are ships first appearing in Global Defence Force, then returning in Earth Defense Force 5's and Earth Defense Force 6's DLC.
Global Defence Force[]
Bombers[]
The standard bombers are flying vehicles almost identical to the imperial drones in design. They feature a main body with a view screen-like visor and an antenna-like object at the bottom. They have two side flaps that periodically flip open to unload plasma bombs repeatedly in sets of twos onto it's targets. The opening flaps are noticeably similar to those of the Deroys'. They mainly attack in large groups, swooping in to drop bombs on targets before retreating to reload.
Super Bombers[]
The super bombers are physically identical to their smaller variants, though it's gargantuan size makes it dwarf the largest of enemies. It usually appears by its self, accompanied by a large force of smaller enemies, most usually the small bombers. When dropping bombs, the large bombers, instead of dropping two plasma bombs at once, it drops up to ten, making it extremely difficult to dodge in combat.
Earth Defense Force 5/6[]
A massive vehicle akin to the Mothership from Monster Attack, these are large flying drones with a hugely upscaled Battle Drone chassis and what appears to be a smaller variant of a Genocide Gun featured on the main Mothership. They appear in at least 3 missions in DLC 2, Engage Drones, The Last Stand 1, and another. They swap the pulse gun in exchange for a large Plasma cannon that fires downwards. Unlike the actual Mothership, however, the gun on the bomber drones does not appear to be retractable. The drone is also large enough to destroy buildings on contact, and has a great amount of armor, making them a lot tougher but also slower. The weapon will fire large blue plasma rockets that linger for 1-2 seconds before dissolving.
