Crash is the fifty-third offline mission and the fifty-seventh online mission in Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair. It is probably supposed to be called Clash.
Objective[]
To fight against Erginus, command headquarters decided to make use of our new Walking Fortress Balam. It's in transit right now. This is a variation on the Walking Fortress X4, with a height of around 50 meters. We'll crash it into Erginus, and boom, history! Storm Team, head out to the scene and support the operation.
Storyline[]
Command Headquarters finally have come up with a strategy to defeat the giant reptilian monster, Erginus, which has previously shrugged off all EDF attack countermeasures. They have decided to potentially sacrifice their walking fortress to attempt to strike it down, believing the mech's overall mass may be able to injure the creature. Though Balam is not equipped with any weaponry, a member of Storm Team boards the machine and as ordered simply uses its arms to pound Erginus over and over; eventually the mighty beast falls to the strikes and Storm Team becomes the first group in the world to kill an Erginus.
