Earth Defense Force: Battle of the Lambda Team (地球防衛軍 ラムダチームの戦い Chikyū Bōeigun Ramuda Chīmu no Tatakai) is a Japanese novel written by Eikichi Maki and based on D3 Publisher and Sandlot's Earth Defense Force video game series. It is set in the continuity of Earth Defense Force 2017 and Earth Defense Force 2025/4.1, and tells the story of an elite EDF unit known as Lambda Team during the war against the Ravagers in 2025. The novel was published by Pony Canyon on February 18, 2018.
Story[]
In 2017, alien spacecrafts approached the Earth. For the first time, humanity had made contact with intelligent extraterrestrial life.
Mankind attempted dialogue with its visitors from beyond the stars, but they responded with a hostile invasion. The Earth Defense Force (known as the EDF), was formed by combining the militaries of the Earth in preparation from an attack by alien lifeforms.
The EDF underwent almost a year of fighting, and succeeded in expelling the alien lifeforms that had invaded the Earth.
Seven years later. After humanity regained its prosperity and was finally able to enjoy a peaceful life, it will have to face the threat of an alien invasion once again.
This is the same story of an elite unit like Storm Team, which succeeded in the great war. This is the story of Lambda Team.
