Infantry are the general-purpose character class that appears in Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders From Planet Space and is similar, but not identical to, the classic Storm 1 class and the Ranger from Earth Defense Force 2025 and Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair.

Overview

The Infantry class is the standard jack-of-all-trades character type seen in every entry in the series. His inventory combines weapons last seen in Global Defence Force such as the SNR sniper rifle series with weapons brand-new in 4.1 such as the Slug Shot. He has wrested control of C Bombs and Impulse mines back from 2025's upstart Air Raider, though the new Air Raider still has the ZE-Guns.
