Kindred Rebellion Nightcrawlers
Nightcrawlers (ナイトクローラー, Naitokurōrā) are enemy mechs featured in Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain. They are decommissioned EDF warmechs operated by the enemy Kindred Rebellion faction, although active EDF-operated Nightcrawlers are available as summonable vehicles.
Description[]
Nightcrawlers are old decommissioned warmechs formerly operated by the Earth Defense Force to combat the Aggressors, which were appropriated by the Kindred Rebellion following Gideon's coup d'état against the EDF. They are currently utilized as the core of the Rebellion's resource collection teams, due to its smaller manpower compared to the EDF. Nightcrawlers are large bipedal walkers that are heavily armored and equipped with powerful artillery, though they are slow and sluggish and easily outmaneuvered by the Giant Creatures. For this reason, the EDF ceased using these particular warmechs after the invention of PA-Gear.
Nightcrawlers commandeered by the Kindred Rebellion may appear in missions throughout the game to plunder Energy Gems dropped by fallen Aggressors in combat with Blast Team. They will be hostile to both Aggressors and the members of Blast Team, and the player must defeat them in order to secure the Energy Gems. Nightcrawlers are suited to mid-range combat and attack with four howitzers mounted on each side.
In addition to the Kindred Rebellion's Nightcrawlers, blue EDF-operated Nightcrawlers are available for Closer to summon into combat.
