The Pale Wing is an armor type found in Global Defense Force and its PlayStation Vita port, Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders From Planet Space; it also later appears in Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable, the port of 2017 also for the PlayStation Vita. It is the precursor to both the Jet Armor of Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon and the Wing Diver of Earth Defense Force 2025 and The Shadow of New Despair. In the latter two games there is a callback to the class, the name instead being used for an elite unit of Wing Divers.
