Transport Ship Surprise Attack is the fifty-third offline mission and the fifty-seventh online mission in Earth Defense Force 2025 and the fifty-sixth offline mission and the sixtieth online mission in Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair. It also holds the record for the longest mission title in either game without including DLC.

4.1: A large enemy fleet is at the coast, dropping giant insects. The transports are protected by numerous defense squads, so a head-on attack won't be possible. Air Forces, cannons, and transport units will all deploy. The ground troops and Air Raiders will target these large transports, and the Air Raiders will also maintain contact with the support squads. Take command of the nearby Fencer and Wing Diver teams and bring a weapon that is good at crowd control and destroying flying units. Also bring a high-damage and long-range weapon to destroy the Large Transport Ships that appear. While unlikely on the highest difficulties, you can shoot them down fore they have released all their units, making less enemies to kill overall
